This is the only known survivor of the only bank in New Lisbon, Ohio, Charter No. 2203, and an exceptionally nice-looking example. Graded PCGS-25, it looks like a much higher grade from the front, The back shows three strong vertical folds that do not intrude themselves much to the front. The folds are prominent and doubtless the reason for lowering the grade, we feel this note's grade nonetheless would be better described by a higher number. But look at the images and make your own decision. Of course, grade definition is secondary to the attributes of adding this wonderful museum piece to your collection.

The First National Bank of New Lisbon, Ohio was chartered in 1874 and went out of business in 1898. During that time, they issued only a paltry $156,070 in currency. Only a total of $960 were unaccounted for as of the summary reported in 1916, resulting in miniscule odds that any other note survived loss and destruction for the opportunity to be discovered at a later date.
